We celebrated another fall foliage season in Mt. Washington Valley, and now as the fall colors turn to early winter-white, the whole Valley is readying itself for the holiday season. Another Harvest to Holiday promotion is underway with fifteen resorts, B&Bs and motels offering wonderful packages including a canvas bag brimming with offers from retailers, restaurants and attractions.     Harvest to Holiday Wine Tasting
    Plan your shopping extravaganza to coincide with the Annual Wine Tasting and Gift Preview on November 19 from 6-8pm at Red Jacket Mountain View Resort in North Conway. This wonderful event showcases everything that's HOT for the holidays, and offers the chance to sample wines from New Hampshire distributors and local tasty foods.

    Mt. Washington Valley Ski Resorts Take Top Honors in Ski Magazine Polls
    Bretton Woods came out the big winner in the October issue of SKI, where the annual round-up of readers and editors choices were announced, making it into the esteemed Best in the East list. In all, Bretton Woods took honors for Best Place to Dabble In Trees, Snow Quality, Grooming and Weather (where Bretton Woods was chosen as #1). Attitash made it onto the list for the Best Place to Gawk at Mansions and also was sited among the top in the East for dining, Apres Ski and off-hill activities. Wildcat's Polecat Trail was touted as one of the best beginner trails in the country, and Wildcat also took honors for Value and Offering Challenge. In the SKI article entitled "The all-time undisputed absolute BEST TRAILS", author Moira McCarthy sites not only Wildcat's Polecat but also Cathedral at Attitash, along with Mt. Washington's Cog RR for the best trail to capture a slice of history.

    SKI magazine readers and editors know a great skiing region when they see it. Mt. Washington Valley's 13 ski resorts and cross country centers are gearing up for another fabulous ski season, opening as soon a Mother Nature allows. Stay tuned for opening dates.

    FAMILY FUN

    Santa's Village is Open at Christmas Time
    This holiday season, take a magical visit to the North Pole. Take in the magical shows, especially the 3D movie "A Tinkerdoodle Christmas!" You and your family can ride many of the great rides, and if Mother Nature cooperates, maybe even in the snow. Meet Mrs. Claus and visit with Santa before he goes away to deliver presents all around the world. Imagine what a magical experience this will be for your young children. You won't want to miss the spectacular Christmas Light Show either. Rates are $18 for ages 4-61, $16 for over 62, age 3 and under are Santa's Guest with a paid adult.
