Greetings!
We're in the midst of Mt. Washington Valley's most
colorful season, and as always, Mother Nature
has not disappointed us. Throughout the Valley
harvest hues adorn the window boxes, gardens and
mountainsides. If you have never seen this colorful
spectacle, this is the year to behold the vista.
However, book soon or forever hold your leaf peep!
Weekends tend to fill up at lodging properties, but
fear not, there is always a room to be had. Be sure
to check with the Mt. Washington Valley Chamber of
Commerce, as they keep regular tabs on which
lodging property has availability. Simply call 800-DO-
SEE-NH (800-367-3364). Or, if you'd rather, let your
fingers do the walking, visit
www.mtwashingtonvalley.org for all you trip
planning
needs.

| FAMILY FUN |
The Fryeburg Fair Maine's Blue
Ribbon Event
Like the turning of the leaves, the Fryeburg Fair
happens each year, offering unparalleled family fun
and a spectacular line-up of activities, live
entertainment, livestock events, demonstrations and
fabulous fair fare. Maine's
oldest fair, this year the
Fryeburg Fair will be held October 3-10, 2004 at the
Fryeburg Fair grounds. For the kids, transport the
whole family back to the "good old days" when the
authentic 19th century little red schoolhouse is in
session for the week. The rafters ring with laughter
once more as area children in period costumes attend
school each day, taught by the not-so-stern school
marm. The focal point of the Children's Area is Old
McDonald's Farm, a petting zoo where children can
intermingle with small barnyard animals. "Bessie" the
cow is always on duty and children are always eager
to try their hand at "milking" her. The Hayseed
Theater comes alive with magicians, jugglers, stilt
walkers and minstrels to keep the children entranced
while Mom & Dad put up their feet. Across the way
you can visit the milking parlor and watch dairy cows
being milked. Learn how to make your own butter &
ice cream in the demonstration area. For a complete
schedule of entertainments and events for both the
kids and adults, visit
Fryeburg Fair or call 207-935-
3268.
