Greetings!
Deadlines, deadlines, deadlines! We KNOW how you hate to commit to things in advance, but here are a couple of looming dates that require your attention:
If you're walking with us in the Pride Parade on June 26th, we need your RSVP no later than this Sunday, June 20th. We need time to get the T-shirts printed, doncha know! Wait too late and you might have to walk topless! We've got 10 people already signed up, but the more the merrier! See the article below for all the details about the event, plus the link for signing up.
On another topic, the Astros have warned us that they might have to take some of our reserved seats away if ticket sales continue at their brisk pace. They've reserved 100 seats for us, but if others are demanding those seats and our sales our slow, we'll lose them. We guarantee that this is going to be one of the best and most visible GLBT events of the year, so you don't want to miss out on the fun. The article below will give you all the poop and the links. Don't delay - take action today! |
NWC Walks in the 2010 Houston Pride Parade With Grand Marshal Carol Wyatt Saturday, June 26th
|
|
One of Northwest Corner's founding members, Carol Wyatt, is the Female Grand Marshal for this year's Pride Parade. Carol is inviting her Northwest Corner friends (decked out in NWC shirts) to carry the banner that precedes her convertible in the parade, and to throw special NWC goodies out to the crowd.
This is a great way for us to introduce our organization to the 150,000 people who will line the streets of Westheimer for the fabulous night-time parade. We'll be throwing out special glow-in-the-dark rubber bracelets with the NWC website address embossed on them.
We'll have more details as we get closer to the Parade, but we need you to sign up now to walk with Carol and NWC.

Pride In The Park with the Astros: GLBT Recognition Night Saturday, July 10th at 6 pm |
| UPDATE: Our master calendar website is now set up to give you ticket purchase links, plus the ability to purchase Hospitality Area passes and NWC ball caps.
For the first time ever, the Houston Astros are honoring their GLBT fans with a special Pride In
The Park Day on July 10th. The 'Stros will play their fierce rivals, the Louis Cardinals - should be a great game! The Gay Men's Chorus and the Bayou City
Women's Chorus will be performing the national anthem. Very cool!
Northwest Corner will be attending as a group. Tickets are $32 for lower level seats along the left field
line, and $10 of that will go to GLBT charities. Over 60 of us have already committed to sit in the NWC area, so it should be QUITE the party!
Northwest Corner will also have a private refreshment area, just behind our
seats in Section 109. Participation in this part of the evening is
optional. The area, which will be open 2 hours before the game through the 7th inning for our
partying pleasure, features a private cash bar, and complementary hot
dogs, chips and popcorn. Tickets for the refreshment area are $13 for
singles and $21 for couples. When you register for this event via our master calendar, you'll be offered the option to purchase tickets for the Hospitality Area.
Many of us are planning to wear our stylish NWC ball caps to the game. You can join in the fun by ordering your cap for the modest price of $10 when you register for the event. We've got 20 for sale, and when they're gone, they're gone!
Note: We've placed this event on the master NWC calendar, and will be using that site (instead of Evite) to provide future updates for this event. If you RSVP'd via Evite, you're ok, but please click on this link to get information on purchasing tickets, ordering a cap and reserving your spot for the hospitality area.
