Sing-Along Show Tunes Brunch: "From Broadway With Love" Sunday, February 14th, Noon at Ovations
|
Join your Northwest Corner friends for a Love-ly Sunday Valentine's Brunch at the legendary Ovations Club in Rice Village. Guests will enjoy a sumptuous Sunday Mimosa Brunch and many of Broadway's most memorable Love Songs....hosted by the "torchy" Marcia Mink. This musical Valentine Brunch features audience sing-alongs to your favorite Broadway tunes (don't worry - we'll provide the lyrics!), and the duo of Judy and Alex will perform a couple of twisted romance numbers.
Oh sure, this is a Valentine's Day thingie, but we don't want you singles to feel left out. Like all NWC events, our crowd will be a great mix of singles and couples, and all will feel welcome. We're planning something fun involving name tags and stickers to help everyone mix and mingle!
Doors open at noon. Brunch is served at 12:30 PM, and the show begins at 1:30 PM. Your $35 ticket provides a wonderful Sunday Brunch Buffet and 2 beverage tickets for mimosas, etc. A cash bar is also available for other libations during the event. The informal seating if limited to a maximum of 80 guests.Tickets are $35 in advance and $40 at the door.
Ovations, long been known as the capital of the Houston Cabaret scene, is located at 2536 Times Boulevard (a few blocks northwest of Kirby and University).
You don't have to be a member of Northwest Corner to join in the fun. All are welcome!

The Rant
|
I don't have time to Rant this week - leaving town for a week of biz travel tomorrow morning. However, stay tuned for an absolute FROSTING of Obama and the pathetic Congressional Democrats. I am so disgusted by their cowardice, lack of strategy, unawareness of (or perhaps lack of concern for) the country's mood, and general political malfeasance that I am close to going postal!
If I don't get to Rant on this subject soon, I may burst!

So Long!
Well, that's all for this edition of Social Notes.
I want to remind everyone that both of the Valentines Day events are for singles as well as couples. But knowing how reluctant many of you are to come to these events alone, I want to offer a little extra "help".
For the LHI Gala, if you are interested in joining a table with me and some of my other single friends, please send me an email. We'll meet for a drink before the event so that everyone will get to meet one another before the Gala.
And the Sing Along Show Tunes brunch is very casual seating, so you can buy individual tickets and then hang with me and the other Northwest Corner singles. For both events, I promise that you won't be left standing alone!
Sincerely,
Carol Wyatt Social Notes
