For those of you who follow me on FACEBOOK, you know I owe you an announcement regarding MEG. I know many of you are anticipating a MEG MOVIE update. That may come in July. This month's MEG announcement is in regards to a MEG e-book. Sometime in July MEG will be sold as an e-book and will contain special added features, including image links and (eventually) a back stage movie pass.

But the BIG news is that I have written a MEG PREQUEL! This special e-book was designed as an inexpensive gift to my loyal readers as a way of thanking you. In essence, it is the story of what happened to Jonas seven years before he returned to the Mariana Trench in the first book. The story also sets up part of the storyline in MEG 5: Night Stalkers as several of these new characters "bleed" into book five. And yes - some of the MEG 5 contest winners are characters in the MEG prequel. (You'll have to splurge for the buck to find out).

Both MEG e-books will be available in all e-book reader formats in July. (There will be no prequel sold in hardback or paperback format as it is less than 100 pages. MEG 5 will be a full feature, debuted as a hardback.) As for MEG 5's release, that will be timed with a summer MEG movie. We're pushing for a summer 2013 date, but that is not official until production begins on a movie. And yes we believe MEG will be THE SUMMER 2013 MOVIE!

Here's the rest of your June update, featuring an important LIVING TIP.

New Website Is Up

I'm really excited about the new website. My talented associate, Leisa Coffman, has outdone herself. The new intro is very cool, the media and book trailer pages are fun and easily accessible, the cool image feature is (duh) cool, and more features will be added.

Living Tips: Radiation from Japan

It hasn't been in the news much of later, but things are not going well with the damaged nuclear reactors in Japan. There are 6 reactors at Dalichi and fuel rods are already melting down. Based on the info I am receiving there will be a catastrophic meltdown that will exceed Chernobyl.

Are we in danger of radioactive fallout? If you live on the Pacific coast, the prevailing winds could bring fallout within ten days of a meltdown. What can you do?

According to Dr. Melissa Patterson, there are supplements that can remove radiation. To access her MUST READ info by clicking the link below.

Horse show uses toy stick ponies after outbreak of equine herpes can't be contained.

By Nina Mandell, DAILY NEWS STAFF WRITER Friday, May 27th 2011,

A horse show had to use stick horses after an outbreak of equine herpes. Thanks to the quickly spreading disease, contestants at the Davis County Sheriff's Mounted Posse Junior Queen Contest in Utah had to compete with stick horses - instead of real horses - as their show ponies. The girls were judged on their dance routines, which were supposed to be performed on horseback. But without any four-legged friends, they were judged on their knowledge of the drill, instead of their horse skills, ABC News reported. "Instead of using horses, we are testing the girls' knowledge and ability to adapt," Posse member Kim Jensen told KSL-TV. "This will test if they know the pattern, but they are disappointed they don't have their real horses." "It's kind of weird, but you can't really help that the disease is going around," former champion Savanna Steed told KSL. (Steve's note: The TV footage is priceless - redefining human stupidity. Norm MacDonald covered this on his new show.)

PHOBOS: Domain Part 3 - Synopsis

The third and BEST novel in the international best-selling 2012 DOMAIN series will make its U.S. debut in October (Tor/Forge). Free excerpt is now posted at

2012 Is the Mayan doomsday prophecy real?

For two thousand years, the Mayan Calendar has prophesied the end of mankind on a date equating to December 21st, 2012. As the date approaches, greed, corruption, economic collapse, and violence seem to be pushing our species to the predicted brink of disaster.

But there is another Doomsday threat looming in our near future, a very real threat that can wipe-out not only humanity but our entire planet.

As you read this preview, a team of physicists in Geneva are using a $10 billion science experiment to smash atoms together at near light speed, hoping to re-create the Big Bang in their ego-driven search for the Higgs Boson -- the God particle -- ignoring the fact that these collisions give birth to stranglets - miniature black holes, any one of which can escape into our universe and grow.

Best-selling author Steve Alten's third book in the Mayan Prophecy series is a doomsday rollercoaster ride of adventure that follows Immanuel Gabriel, the surviving Hero Twin depicted in the Popol Vuh, as he takes us to the end of the world and back again for one last shot at salvation and a chance meeting with his deceased grandfather, archaeologist Julius Gabriel. In the process Julius reveals everything the Mayans knew and feared -- from the very secrets of creation that predates the Big Bang to the existence of extraterrestrials that have come to Earth to save our species. The universe is not what it seems, nor is human existence, and that this ticking clock of physicality that begins at conception and terminates with our final breath is neither the end nor the beginning, but an elaborate ruse constructed as a test. And we are failing miserably.

Jokes of the Month - Old Age and Forgetfulness

When I went to lunch today, I noticed an old lady sitting on a park bench sobbing her eyes out. I stopped and asked her what was wrong. She said, 'I have a 22 year old husband at home. He makes love to me every morning and then gets up and makes me pancakes, sausage, fresh fruit and freshly ground coffee.' I said, 'Well, then why are you crying?' She said, 'He makes me homemade soup for lunch and my favorite brownies and then makes love to me for half the afternoon. I said, 'Well, why are you crying?' She said, 'For dinner he makes me a gourmet meal with wine and my favorite dessert and then makes love to me until 2:00 a.m.' I said, 'Well, why in the world would you be crying?' She said, 'I can't remember where I live!'

Two elderly ladies had been friends for many decades. Over the years they had shared all kinds of activities and adventures. Lately, their activities had been limited to meeting a few times a week to play cards. One day they were playing cards when one looked at the other and said, 'Now don't get mad at me....I know we've been friends for a long time.....but I just can't think of your name! I've thought and thought, but I can't remember it. Please tell me what your name is.' Her friend glared at her. For at least three minutes she just stared and glared at her. Finally she said, 'How soon do you need to know?'

Grant me the senility to forget the people I never liked anyway, The good fortune to run into the ones I do, and the eyesight to tell the difference.
