Happy New Year (Rosh Hashanah) to my Jewish fans. In 30 days, my best and most important book, GRIM REAPER: End of Days will debut in stores. Two years of my life went into this book, and every time I read it, I discover something new. I promise you, this one is something very special. You will read this book, then want to read it again. It stays with you. It can impact your life. There are only 20,000 First Editions being printed, making them collector items. If you preorder at a discount from Amazon and Barnes&Noble.com before October 1st, you will get a First Edition.

We are planning some unusual FAN ORIENTED publicity. Around October 20th I will be on the road on a "filmed" book tour with Nick Nunziata, who helped create the concept for GRIM and is founder of CHUD.com. We'll film and post everything from behind-the-scenes TV interviews, to life on the road excerpts, to the nightly booksignings. If you can join us, you can be on film, which will be posted on blogs, websites, and YouTube. Should be interesting. If you manage a blog or website and would like to receive the posts, contact Mike at mike.esola@gmail.com

The tour dates and stops will be posted in the October newsletter and on my website. First tour is the NJ, Philly, Delaware area, followed in November with NYC. I'll also be hitting South Florida in earlier October. Stay tuned!!

Again, thank you for all your kindness and support. I absolutely guarantee GRIM REAPER will become one of your favorite reads of all time.

MEG MOVIE? LOCH MOVIE? What the hell, Steve?

A last(?) hurdle is being hurdled for both thrillers. I hope to have something significant to announce in the coming months, but these things take time. All I can say is that the new MEG script is exactly what all MEG fans want and MORE! And The LOCH will rock as well. Both movies will be accompanied by a new MEG (Night Stalkers) or LOCH novel.

ON GRATITUDE: 50 CELEBRITIES ON THE POWER OF GIVING THANKS, will be published September 21, 2010, which is also World Gratitude Day. The book features candid, uplifting, frequently humorous one on one interviews with a number of our favorite icons from the silver screen, the sports arena, the pop charts, and the printed page, including Alicia Keys, Jeff Bridges, John Updike, BB King, Morgan Freeman, Sheryl Crow, Brad Meltzer, Ringo Starr, and David Lynch.

The stories they tell are amazing. (All I had to do, really, was listen!) Who's grateful for surviving cancer, for being called an SOB by W.C. Fields, for dancing with child soldiers in Uganda, for the unexpected romantic advances of Bo Derek, for the anonymity afforded by online gaming, for the ability to transform overwhelming grief into one of literature's most indelible characters, for being an eleventh-hour obstetrician in a third-world country, for wearing pajamas to the White House, for the pleasures of Calamansi juice? The answers are in ON GRATITUDE. If you've only got one-minute, please take a look at the trailer for the book by clicking the link below. Thanks! Todd Jensen.

CHARACTER CONTEST - A New One coming in October

The movie file contest was not a big hit, so we're awarding characters to everyone who participated and launching something new and amazing in October. If you participated in the video contest, e-mail me at MEG82159@aol.com with your name and bio.Place in the subject line: VIDEO WINNER.

PHOBOS UPDATE

The 3rd DOMAIN book is done and it rocks! It will debut in Mexico in November, with the American pub date being set soon. I'm guessing Fall 2011. THERE IS A SNEAK PEEK IN THE BACK OF GRIM REAPER! The DOMAIN books are doing very well, now that 2012 is rapidly approaching, DOMAIN was #1 in Argentina, Mexico, and Spain.

LIVING TIPS: Hotel Card Keys Can Rob Your Account

Ever wonder what is on your magnetic key card? Answer: Customer's name, Customer's partial home address, Hotel room number, Check-in date and out dates, Customer's credit card number and expiration date! When you turn them in to the front desk your personal information is there for any employee to access by simply scanning the card in the hotel scanner. An employee can take a hand full of cards home and using a scanning device, access the information onto a laptop computer and go shopping at your expense. Simply put, hotels do not erase the information on these cards until an employee reissues the card to the next hotel guest. At that time, the new guest's information is electronically 'overwritten' on the card and the previous guest's information is erased in the overwriting process. But until the card is rewritten for the next guest, it usually is kept in a drawer at the front desk with YOUR INFORMATION ON IT! The bottom line is: Keep the cards, take them home with you, or destroy them. NEVER leave them behind in the room or room wastebasket, and NEVER turn them into the front desk when you check out of a room. They will not charge you for the card (it's illegal) and you'll be sure you are not leaving a lot of valuable personal information on it that could be easily lifted off with any simple scanning device card reader. For the same reason, if you arrive at the airport and discover you still have the card key in your pocket, do not toss it in an airport trash basket. Take it home and destroy it by cutting it up, especially through the electronic information strip! OR - BETTER YET - If you have a small magnet, pass it across the magnetic strip several times. Then try it in the door, it will not work. It erases everything on the card. Information courtesy of: Metropolitan Police Service.

RECIPE of the Month: Loaded Banana Peppers

Larger, thicker banana peppers work best. Cut the stem off the banana peppers, remove the seeds, stuff shredded sharp cheddar cheese in bottom 1/3 of the pepper, add a jalapeno slice, cap the end with as much cream cheese as needed to make it fill the pepper. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes or so. Delicious ! Submitted by Gordon E. Bowdler.

That's all for now. Stay well, stay safe and know this author appreciates you very much.

Sincerely,
