LCDC SECURES GRANTS FOR TWO COMPANIES
| | | KIT and KIR Grants Help Companies Pay for Training
LCDC assisted two companies in winning over $10,000 in grant money from the Kansas Department of Commerce, retaining 14 jobs in Leavenworth County.
The KIT/KIR (Kansas Industrial Training/Retraining) Programs are designed to help assist companies completing expansions that result in net new job creation. If your industrial firm is restructuring or expanding your operations and the plans include net new jobs or an element of retraining your existing employees, you may be eligible for one of the programs. 2012 PROGRAM OF WORK GUIDES LCDC'S EFFORTS
| | LCDC's Board of Directors recently approved the 2012 Program of Work, a guide designed to assist staff in meeting the priorities of the organization. Elements critical to the Program of Work include growing relationships with partners and the community, reaching out to existing businesses and helping them with expansion plans, coordinating with local and regional workforce development efforts, and recruiting new business to the county through comprehensive marketing techniques.
