Greetings!
Lobby Day Works! Assembly Passes Key NYSAR Legislative Priority
NYSAR Logo

Today, Assemblywoman Donna Lupardo called GBAR Government Affairs Chair Lois Andrascik to let her know that legislation to streamline the process for agents to change brokerages was passed by the New York State Assembly, following an earlier passing in the Senate.   This legislation was one of the major items for which GBAR and other New York State REALTORŪ Associations lobbied at Lobby Day earlier this week, and for which Assembly Members Lupardo. Finch and Crouch pledged their support during our face-to-face meetings on Tuesday in Albany.   Essentially, the legislation eliminates the $10 fee to be paid by brokers who transfer agents out of their agency, and shifts that burden to the acquiring broker.  The legislation now awaits the Governor's signature to become law.

President's Corner:

"Investing in You"

Pat Kilts Head Shot

It's time to take a look at tracking sales and listings activities relative to the goals you set at the first of the year in a Business Plan.  You do have a Business Plan, don't you?  If not, take time now to devise one for the remainder of the year.  How is your Business?  Make that plan, and then work the plan.

Remember to update your data file - client names and telephone numbers are not enough   Always include such pertinent information as family, leisure activities, birthdays, etc.  This will be useful in building a long term relationship as their REALTORŪ for Life.  Your Referral System will stay alive and well. Remember for good Business Health your Client is your 1st Priority.

When paying your Association Due and MLS Fees this month, pay electronically....an easy process...a few clicks on the computer and it's done.  If you are having difficulty, you can always get help from your office administrator.  Remember when paying your dues; please give a little extra to RPAC.  The donation that surely protects your business. On a State and National level, RPAC is working for you to preserve the value of home ownership, and protect the Housing Industry. When you invest there, you are truly investing in yourself.

Best regards always,  .

Pat Kilts

MLS Miscellany - Assessed Value

GBAR Logo
Here at the Association we receive a number of calls and "police" emails regarding the concerns with how listing data is input and verified.  We thought we'd use this forum to mention the most common concerns, in with the intention of both educating our Members and improving the effectiveness of our listing content.

Today's Topic:  Assessed Value

This issue's topic is simple.  It appears that some agents are mistakenly putting a "Full Market Value" number in the "Assessed Value" field.  Please make sure you use the correct number when entering an Assessment value.
