About Chris

Chris Flisher
Chris Flisher has been a student of astrology ever since he had his first chart done at age 20. At the time, a perfect stranger asked him his astrology coordinates (birthdate /place /time) and within a few days he had the most amazingly accurate account of himself that he had ever read; delivered by a person who had no previous knowledge of him.
Chris has spent the rest of his time researching, understanding, and practicing astrology. Much like medicine, astrology is a practice  and a deep complex science/art requiring years of experience and research. Astrologers must work with both scientific data and intuition.  Chris was recently awarded a "Top Ten Astrologers" award and is celebrating his fourth continuous year of broadcasting as the host of the weekly radio show, "Turning Of The Wheel" on Contact Talk Radio.

"Saturn in Scorpio"

For the first time in roughly 29 years, Saturn, the great planet of responsibility and accountability enters the sign of Scorpio. It was August 25, 1983 when this mighty planet last stepped into the intense sign of Scorpio. Ronald Reagan and Margaret Thatcher were both in office; Michael Jackson had just released "Thriller," and IBM was working with DOS 2.0. The internet was far from being invented and there were no cell phones.

Do you remember where you were at that time? What was happening in your life during that period? Similar events are very likely to recur. It is not so much that the exact same events will recur, but that the theme of that era will have a very familiar ring to it. So if you can pause and remember you might be surprised by a similar set of themes in your life.

So what does Saturn in Scorpio look like? Saturn is the planet associated with responsibility, hard work, accountability, revelations, honesty and basically the one planet that holds us in place. Scorpio, as a sign, is known for intensity, secrecy, sexuality, loyalty, and depth. When you combine these types of energies you come up with a recipe for purity and a bottom-line accountability. It is like this; "If you have the records; then show us the records." This may be a time when such a disparity and obvious restraint may be forced into the open. This can be a theme for anyone in this situation.

The most important factor for any individual would be to find the house that Saturn and Scorpio occupy in your own make-up. This is a crucial piece of the equation as it pertains to the individual. Not everyone will have the activity in the same house. The house, is the area of your life where the action happens at the time. Much like a scene in a play, the stage is set for specific events. Does this move through your house of money; or health; or career; or relationship? All of these are important indicators of where you will be personally impacted.

Perhaps the most impressive aspect of this alignment is the ominous alignment of Mercury in conjunction to Saturn at this exact same point (of course there are no coincidences in astrology.) Astrological conjunctions spell intensity as the planets involved intensify the activity and amp the noise up considerably. On October 3rd and for a few days after Mercury will be casting his investigative gaze over this scene, so we can expect lots of probing questions and lots of evasive answers. I suspect we will know much more about where we are going in just a few short days. Mercury moves much faster than Saturn and will linger for only a short time, but the initial impact of these two aligning together on the eve of the US Presidential debates is a critical data point.

How does this planetary alignment roll out in the US? How does it roll out in your individual chart? Where does the action take place? Which house in your chart has the action? A professional reading can be one of the most rewarding experiences.  Forward on your questions to me at  chris@chrisflisher.com  and get a professional reading at Reading request. Monthly Astrology Forecast ~ October 2012

Week of October 1st

Talkative and curious Mercury pairs up with responsible and orderly Saturn and the great conversation might get quite serious right about now. The dialog may become one of true substance. No longer will vague answers be allowed or tolerated. Dodging will no longer work under these skies. As the facts are sought, the powers that be may try hard to suppress the truth rationalizing that the disease may be worse than the cure. Avoiding the problem might be better than allowing the truth to come forth. How fascinating is that? This indicates extreme suspicion and reason for concern. If nothing was hidden then exposure would be allowed. This may be the time when the investigation finally stirs up some real mud, and it may not be pretty. Momentum has a funny way of gathering steam and pushing out the truth.

Week of October 8th

The rich Libra Sun will be in a harmonious angle to the most auspicious and expansive planet of our neighborhood. Jupiter will be sitting comfortably in the middle degrees of Gemini and working together with the Sun to elevate the dialog to new highs. We can expect the talk to be lofty, grandiose and somewhat inflated. While the words may be flowing we have to ask ourselves how much of this hoopla is believable. This should be a good time to be discrete and analyze that what comes forth especially from the press. Not all talk has value and often times it can be quite cheap especially when it comes to slinging mud. Mud-throwing always leaves a stain that can be destructive. It may be important to hang on to that image when making decisions in a month or so.

Week of October 15th

Emotions may be running much hotter as the Moon glides by aggressive Mars in Sagittarius. While Mars works well in the fire sign of the Archer and bounces off that reflective quality, it also feels the trigger of Uranus in fellow fire-sign Aries. We might expect to see a building of tension as a result. Perhaps a verbal duel might be in order as presidential debates seek to solidify two wildly diverse points of view. With Jupiter opposing the whole scene from across the zodiac in Gemini we can be certain that the conversation gets amplified to the highest degree.  If an advantage comes into to view during these times it may be critical to drive home the point. This may not be a theme for shy flowers. This could be a game-changing dialog that sways a mass sea of people in another direction like a school of fishes, desperately seeking the truth.

Week of October 22nd

The Sun shines bright on Saturn as these two planets swoop into Scorpio together. Scorpio is where secrets live and secrets come to light. Saturn represents accountability and when the Sun shines on Saturn we can expect to see that process literally in the spotlight. Coincidently, Neptune lingers at the early degrees of Pisces, another water sign so there is a tangible connection between these three planets. Neptune tends to cloud the issue with an elusive shroud of ambiguity. It's like we can see something happening but we are uncertain of who or what in involved. Like a street-lamp lit crime in the late evening, this may cause concern for last minute shuffling of political motives. This casts an air of reasonable doubt which pervades the dialog.

Week of October 29th

This could be a rather caustic week as Venus stares down and directly opposes Uranus. As we know, Uranus tends to be eccentric and confrontational. Venus, on the other hand tends to be softer and more about harmony. Does this alignment heat up the kitchen? You bet. So if you can't stand the heat what's the best thing to do? That's right; get out of the kitchen. It might be wise to avoid situations and conversations that could be inflammatory.   You might see them coming so step to the side. On the political front this is likely to be a very fiery period as the stakes are now coming down to the wire. Within a week we'll see the future of the most powerful country in the globe and it will be a clear signal towards the future.
