Charleston for Change ~ A Benefit for Appalachian Community Fund
Help Us Celebrate and Grow Our Fund
Appalachian Community Fund invites you to join us in honoring Attorney General Darrell V. McGraw with an Appalachian Hero Award. We'll gather on Thursday May 31st, 5:30-7:30 pm at the West Virginia Association for Justice, located at 1614 Kanawha Boulevard, East, Charleston West Virginia 25311.
Guitarist Michael Lipton of the Carpenter Ants will provide background music in addition to songs from Kate Long. Enjoy treats by the Blue Grass Kitchen and a cash bar. We honor Attorney General McGraw for his service to West Virginia with his work for social change and justice. Since being elected Attorney General in 1992, General McGraw has returned over $1.9 billion dollars to West Virginia and its citizens for violations of the State's consumer protection act and antitrust laws. He has used the power of his office to stop the erosion of citizens' rights. Attorney General McGraw fights for West Virginia and her citizens. "The Judge" will be honored at 6:15 pm.
For 25 years, the Appalachian Community Fund has granted over 6 million dollars to organizations working toward Change, Not Charity in Central Appalachia. Our funding area includes West Virginia, Southwest Virginia, East Tennessee and Eastern Kentucky. ACF has been a vital force in promoting and supporting true justice and opportunity in the Mountain State. Whether the cause is clean air and water, fair employment or human rights, the Appalachian Community Fund has been an organization that grassroots nonprofits in West Virginia have been able to turn to for support.
