Did You Know?
|
The Grandfather Mountain Highland Games were founded in 1956 by Agnes MacRae Morton and Donald MacDonald. Donald is one of this year's special guests. The games are always held on the second full weekend in July. While not the largest games in the country, they are among the oldest. Often referred to as "America's Braemar" because the setting is so reminiscent of Scotland, they are considered one of the premier games in the world. |

COSCA Dues Update | | COSCA Adopts New Billing Period
At the 2010 Annual Meeting, COSCA members voted to move to a calendar year billing period (January - December). The change was made to simplify the dues process for the clans and overrides the former practice of paying annual dues in July. Dues are still only $25 per year.
Clans who have already paid for 2010-2011 are current members and will get the benefit of an additional six months membership. Their next payment will be due January 1, 2012. A list of current members is available here.
Clans who have not paid for the 2010-2011 period should pay now to bring their organization current. In January 2012, their next payment will be due which will get them synced to the new billing cycle.
COSCA will be able to receive membership payments at the games. Just stop by the COSCA tent located at the main entrance or bring your payment to the Saturday meeting at the Clan Chiefs' Tent. To join COSCA online by credit card, click here. |
