Citizens Redistricting Commission

June 7th Meeting Start Time will be Delayed by

Bonderson Building Fire Drill

Sacramento, CA (June 6, 2012) --

The start of the Citizens Redistricting Commission (CRC) business meeting, scheduled from 10AM - 5PM on June 7th, 2012, will be temporarily delayed by a mandatory fire drill affecting its offices in Sacramento.

The CRC is one of several state agencies with offices in the Bonderson Building, located at 901 P Street, Sacramento, CA. During the fire drill, tentatively scheduled from 10:00AM to 10:15AM, all personnel must vacate the premises and gather at Roosevelt Park.

Members of the public planning to attend the CRC meeting are encouraged to wait at Roosevelt Park until the Fire Marshal approves a return to the building.

The Commission will convene after the fire drill concludes.

California's first Citizens Redistricting Commission is a new 14-member Commission charged with redrawing California's Senate, Assembly, State Board of Equalization, and Congressional districts based on information gathered during the 2010 census. The Commission must draw the State Senate, Assembly, State Board of Equalization, and Congressional districts in conformity with strict, nonpartisan rules designed to create districts of relatively equal population that will provide fair representation for all Californians.
