Greetings!
Jane recently lost a high school friend to brain cancer. Reconnecting with her Peoria, Illinois High School Class of 1980 friends on Facebook has been a true joy and blessing to her. Friendships are important and help to sustain us. We turn to our friends in the good times and in the bad. As Jane was sending (((((hugs))))) via Facebook to those mourning this loss, one of her high school friends remarked that "cyber hugs were good"!
At the end of the month, we should stop to reflect on those friendships and relationships that we cherish. Friends from our childhood, friends from school, friends in our neighborhood, friends at work and our business friends are all ones that we don't want to take for granted.
Take a moment this week to let a friend know that you are thinking of them.
At Signs & More, we are grateful to call you a FRIEND!
In Friendship,
Bill & Jane Swanson

Friendship
"Don't walk in front of me, I may not follow.
Don't walk behind me, I may not lead.
Walk beside me and be my friend."
- Albert Camus
"The only reward of virtue is virtue; the only way to have a friend is to be one." - Ralph Waldo Emerson
"A friend is someone who knows the song in your heart, and can sing it back to you when you have forgotten the words." - Donna Roberts |
Sign of the Month
BridgeMill Dentistry Monument
BridgeMill Dentistry moved just up the street to their brand new building and needed a sign to let their patients know their new location and keep the high end look of the new building.
Signs & More was there with the perfect solution for their needs. Signs & More designed a synthetic stucco monument sign capturing the stone and squared off pilasters on the building. A light stucco background was added to allow the BridgeMill Dentistry Logo to stand out from the sign. After the proof was approved, Signs & More got the Sign Permit and began manufacturing.

One of the beauties of this type of sign is that is goes in with very little mess and time. There is no need to build a big foundation, wait for curing, then build a block inner structure and come back with stones and stucco. The synthetic stucco signs are installed in hours with 2 concreted holes. All the work is done in the factory.
At BridgeMill Dentistry, patients' health, comfort, and convenience are always their greatest priorities. No matter what your needs, their team always has the time and the expertise to help you. BridgeMill Dentistry has been voted #1 by Around Sizes Living magazine for 6 years in a row.

CAN YOUR CUSTOMERS SEE YOUR SIGN?
When you decide to purchase a new sign, whether it is an LED-Digital Readerboard Sign, Channel Letter Sign, Lightbox/Pan Face Sign or a myriad of other styles of signs, your audience is a factor that cannot be ignored. After all, the purpose of your sign is to address potential customers and bring them in because they can find your location. If a customer is unable to view a sign's message, then the expense that has been paid will have been for nothing. It is vital to consider viewing distance as an important factor in the selection and placement of any new sign.
Focusing on viewing distance, most signage can benefit from this simple rule of thumb. The greater the distance between the audience and sign, the larger the font needs to be to maintain optimal effectiveness. And the faster the customer is moving, the larger the sign needs to be. Intricate designs may be nice, close up, but from a distance of a few hundred feet or more, they become virtually impossible to see.

As far as text height is concerned, when it comes to viewing distance, 1 inch for every 20-30 feet of separation is a commonly accepted ratio. Always remember, the further an audience is from a sign, the larger a message will need to be.
