| Prescription Drug Take Back | | |
April 30th, 2011
CCADC had it's most successful, to date, Prescription Drug Take Back on Saturday April 30th. We collected 196 lbs of prescription, over-the-counter, and veterinary medications in four hours at the First Vision Bank offices in Manchester and Tullahoma. Our success can be placed on the shoulder of tireless volunteers. So many came out to help us collect, count, and identify medications. A special thanks goes to the Tullahoma Police Department, the Coffee County Sheriff's Department, Manchester Police Department, Marcrom's Pharmacy and Tullahoma Drug Store.

Questions for your Medical Professionals
| | |
CCADC has partnered with PIRE (Pacific Institute of Resource and Evaluation) to complete an application for a NIH (National Institute of Health) funded grant on Prescription Drug Abuse Prevention. As we are preparing the grant with PIRE we need a few questions answered from Medical Profressionals. Could you please ask your medical professional (nurse practitioner, pharmacist, doctor, doctor's assistant, nurse, etc...) three simple questions?
1) Do you prescribe/hand medication?
2) Do you think medical professionals would participate in focus group sessions concerning needed resource for prescription drug abuse prevention?
3) Do you think educational lunches that take place in medical offices would be the best way to get medical professionals involved in the conversation concerning prescription drug abuse prevention including free resources for patients?
We would love to have answers to these three questions by the end of May! Thank you in advance for your help in this matter.
