It's been a while since I've been able to write a newsletter partly due to not feeling like myself in much of June and part of July. I'll spare you the details but only to say that I'm happy to be my healthy self again.
But before all that I was fortunate to take a trip to Taos, New Mexico and attend an Earthship building seminar. The idea behind the trip was to learn a bit more about these unique and creative homes. The building method is called Biotecture and is based on the work of the principal architect, Michael Reynolds.
I was so impressed with Mr. Reynolds during the seminar. He's an incredibly down to earth individual with a heart of gold. He really get's it in the understanding that everyone should and can live comfortably on this planet without poverty and starvation. I can't speak highly enough about his character and not mention his brilliance and creativity.
Earthship homes are constructed from recycled materials and are systems within themselves. They don't need to be plugged into the power grid and apparently can be built anywhere. I made a short video showing some of what I saw when I was in Taos. (Click the picture to see the video, It's after I introduce the winner of my art contest giveaway).

At some point, I would like to film my Handy Goddess show around me building one of these but I would first need some land, money and assistance to actually make that a reality. To learn more to go their website Earthship.com
