Busy week here at the farm. We were able to finally get back to clearing some of the forty acres that we purchased back in January. We started clearing on January 26th and in the six or so weeks that followed, we have received about 14" of rain. (Now the weather service is forecasting a lot more this coming weekend.) Thus far we have about twelve acres rough cleared with probably close to fifty or sixty large burn piles. This week we were able for the first time get a bull dozer back there (too wet) and rake up some of the larger timbers that were laying on the ground. While excited at actually starting to visualize how new fields will evolve, a little nervousness is "surfacing in background." Why? The thought of how much work remains is a little overwhelming.

Full Shares CSA for the Spring.  With our Winter program being past the midpoint, we are proceeding with our Spring CSA registration. The Spring program will be ten weeks and is going to begin the week of Monday, April 9th, to extend into early June. The expected harvest will be similar to the winter program, but will eventually evolve into more spring items such as potatoes, green beans, tomatoes, cucumbers, summer squash etc. We think we will have strawberries into May, which about time when the first harvest of blackberries begin.

Just to let you know that we have an early bird special for the first 50 Full shares to be paid for online for the spring CSA program; basically you get one week free.
