Wood Duck Farm July 29th, 2010
Hi,
We've been growing veggies and herbs here on the farm since about 1994. You may have met us at one of the Houston area Farmer's Markets, been a member of our CSA program and/or visited our website. In any event, somewhere along the way you singed up for our farm newsletter. If you have moved or are otherwise not interested in receiving our updates, please click the "unsubscribe" link above to "option out" of any future emails.
Okay, so we are pretty "fired up" about what is going on here at the farm as earlier this year we started inviting folks out to the farm for pig roasts and tours. Now these aren't just any ol' pig roasts as you will surely discover. We also had some great harvests with our Spring CSA program, and received good customer reviews to boot. When you find time, please take a look at why we are so excited by visiting our website at Wood Duck
Farm . Here you will find info about our farm dinners (due to begin again in October,) customer surveys/reviews, restaurants/markets where we sell, and specifics about upcoming programs and events.
We'll give more specific details later and hope you stay tuned. Incidentally, we have a farm blog, which is basically a few snapshots w/commentary about what's going on at the farm etc. At sometime in the future, we may merge this update with our blog, but until then you can link directly by visiting Van's
Farm Journal or find it under our "Current Events" header on our home page.
More info about our Fall CSA program can be found below.
All the best,
Van Weldon Cell 713 876 8645

Click here to go to the WDF Harvest Calendar. for a list of items that we plant for the fall season. Additional Pick Up Locations Sought? Please let us know if you have any ideas about prospective pick up locations that we can consider adding to our current sites. A Pick Up location can be a home, church, office or store and should be able to provide some protection from the elements such as direct sun, rain, i.e. a covered porch, an open garage etc. Some of the areas of interest to us may be adjacent to the following vicinities: Westcott & Memorial West University Downtown Houston Midtown Houston San Felipe & Chimney Rock area WestChase Area Sugarland Bellaire, Myerland area Conroe Humble Your neighborhood not on this list?
