Alzheimer's Disease Cooperative Study Quilt Project
|
"Quilters have long known that a quilt is a loving tribute that bonds quilters with recipients across generations and across vast distances. A quilt has a nurturing effect that comforts and soothes the soul. The warmth of a quilt is enhanced by the often bright patterns and colorful images which frequently suggest a simpler time."
This group is collecting lap-sized quilts to give to the participants in various Alzheimer's research projects. So many of us have family members or friends affected by this disease. What a great way to spend some time doing something you love and then send that love away to someone else. Read more about this organization and their goals by clickingHERE.
Can you donate an hour or two of sewing time? During our UFO day, I hope that we can collectively work on at least a couple lap quilts. I'll bring some patterns and kits. If you have extra scraps or pieces, bring them along too. I hope that whatever we get started on Saturday will be added to over the next couple months so we can mail out some beautiful donations!
