I hope you are finding ways to enjoy the beautiful Vermont countryside during this time of year as well as fit in some stitching time. It's been an exciting summer here at the shop with lots of new fabric additions, kits put together, and visits from friends. American Patchwork & Quilting ~ One Million Pillowcase Challenge

Fun & Easy to Make ~ Great Cause!

American Patchwork & Quilting has challenged all sewers/crafters/quilters nationally to make and donate pillowcases! Although the count will be kept at the national level, all the donations are made locally. Mad River Quilting will be collecting pillowcases through September 15. We hope to have an armload (or two) to deliver to The Ronald McDonald House in Burlington for visiting families to enjoy. Download free patterns at www.allpeoplequilt.com or use your own pattern to make a standard size pillowcase. Pre-packaged kits are available for only $13 ($15.50 for the basic kit to make 2 cases).

Mad Quilters' Guild

Even though we don't "officially" meet in the summer months, some of us just can't resist! The July gathering was filled with updated from Vermont Quilt Festival and beautiful projects from those who attended.
The meeting on Tuesday, August 10 at 6:30 p.m. will be held here at Mad River Quilting! Come join us on the lawn (fingers crossed for no rain) for snacks and Show N Tell. Bring a lawn chair and a mug.

What's a Skinny Bolt?

Skinny Bolts ~ New Area in the Store!

A skinny bolt is any bolt with 3 yards or less left on the bolt. Buy the amount remaining on the bolt and save 20%! This will be a permanent area of the store and continually updated as more bolts "get skinny"!

A new website is on its way! The launch is planned for August 1st. This is the first step in building the potential for customers to make purchases on-line! A very exciting addition!
