McHenry County Achieves Triple A Bond Rating
McHenry County is proud to announce an improvement in its debt rating to Aaa by Moody's Investors Service. The Aaa rating (the highest rating available) will allow McHenry County to issue debt at the lowest possible interest rate. The organization has proven itself to be among the top tier of local governments in terms of financial strength both in Illinois and nationally. McHenry County is now one of three counties in the State of Illinois sharing the honor (DuPage and Lake Counties are also rated Aaa).

Update on Water Studies  Groundwater is an especially important resource to McHenry County as underlying aquifers provide 100 percent of the County's water supply , with no alternatives available. Since 2007, the McHenry County Division of Water Resources has been coordinating the implementation of a comprehensive research program to quantify and clarify the groundwater resource concerns county-wide. Additionally, the McHenry County Division of Water Resources has been working to develop a comprehensive Water Resources Action Plan to ensure the long-term sustainability of the County's drinking water supply. ATHENA - Property Viewer  The McHenry County GIS Department is pleased to announce the new public version of its property search viewer interactive map, "Athena". Search capabilities include property boundaries information by a parcel number, address, or subdivision. Individuals will also have the ability to research comparable property for purposes related to property tax information. Other search information includes flood zone areas, topography, wetlands, and aerials. Click here to view the interactive map.
