| Dear Friend of Josiah Hill Clinic, | Happy February, all! It's Josiah Hill III's birth month, as well as JHC Volunteer Appreciation month, so for the next 28 days, we at the Clinic will be remembering our roots and celebrating our legacy, trying extra hard to fulfill Josiah's dream. Read on to discover how! |
Staff Spotlight: Community Leaders, Past & Present
| Our Staff Spotlight this month shines on Jensi Albright and Carmen Gutierrez, our two fantastic Community Leaders. In less than six weeks, this dynamic duo has completed over 30 Healthy Home Assessments in the St. John's community. That's over 30 families that are now equipped to live healthier, safer, happier lives! They also had a big hand in organizing the latest Green Cleaning Workshop and were invaluable in helping Communications Specialist Nicole Staudinger explain the basics of Green Cleaning to a primarily Spanish speaking audience. Muchas gracias ladies!
February 20th is the birthday of our beloved founder Josiah Hill III, so we want to take a moment to highlight his role as a community leader as well. In 2001, February 20th was officially named Josiah Hill III day in Oregon. Appreciation- Past, Present, and Future
|
Besides the birthday celebration on February 20th, it is a very special day for all of us at the Clinic. At 3pm on Sunday afternoon, the JHC office will be dedicated as the Josiah Hill III building, with a plaque featuring a bust of Josiah. Afterward, volunteers, board members, and staff will convene at the Widmer Gasthaus Pub for snacks, awards, and general appreciation of all the wonderful people who donate their time to make the Clinic what it is. We'd love to have you! RSVP by emailing nicole@jhillclinic.org. Also this month, we'll be hosting three workshops with Albina Early Head Start, blood lead screenings at the Woodstock Community Center and the Parkrose High Fixit Fair, and co-hosting the 3rd Annual NW Environmental Health Conference at PSU!

Save the date! Tickets to the 5th Annual Leaving a Legacy Fundraiser are available from our website, as well as sponsorships and auction donations. Every little bit helps! Also, big news! The Clinic is now providing the opportunity for parents to call and schedule individual appointments to have their children tested at the JHC office, as opposed to our monthly clinics. Contact Amanda for available times. We'd love to see you soon at one of our many events. February is the shortest month, so we're squeezing in as much goodness as possible. Here's hoping yours is chock full of joy and inspiration!
Sincerely, |
