Dear Friend of Josiah Hill Clinic,

Welcome to summertime! With the arrival of sunshine (finally!) to Portland, we here at the Clinic have been busy as bees, buzzing about the community. Five fantastic new interns have joined our team, and we've been attending exciting events left and right. Read on to find out more!

JHC Spotlight- Welcome to Our New Interns!

We are delighted to have five talented new interns on board. Amina, Rafat,Tania,

Berenia, and Susanna are

all pursuing Public Health degrees at either PSU or OSU, but come from quite diverse backgrounds. They will be utilizing their varied expertise to help with a myriad of program-related projects, including improving and implementing Healthy Home Assessments, and of course, assisting with our lead screening clinics! They'll be popping up in lots of future JHC news, so keep your eyes peeled.

Events Galore!

Sunshine means tons of fun outreach opportunities for JHC! In addition to our regularly scheduled monthly clinics at Balthazar Community Center and Dishman Community Center, we also attended the Portland City Rose Festival and the 18th Annual Good in the Neighborhood Festival. We enjoyed a lovely evening at the Center for International Organizing's Annual Fundraiser and even hosted our very own Josiah Hill III Clinic Volunteer Training. Welcome to Shelda Holmes

We are very pleased to welcome Shelda Holmes as the official Medical Director for Josiah Hilll III Clinic. Shelda has been a long time supporter of JHC, having worked with Josiah Hill III during the very begninngs of the mobile lead testing clinics. She is a certified Family Nurse Practitioner and owner of Hands on Medicine, which provides individual and family health services in North Portland. Shelda resides in the Piedmont neighborhood with her husband, State Representative Chip Shields, and their daughter Ruby. We are excited and thankful to have her on board.
