| Thank You, Leaving a Legacy Attendees! |
Speaking of the Leaving a Legacy event, this year was a resounding success. Thanks to all the generous donors and sponsors, we raised more than $11,000. Awards were presented to the ever-eloquent Adonica DeVault from Lewis & Clark College, and to the Miller Paint Company, a long-time supporter of JHC. Dedicated volunteer Nicole Duffy spoke about how her experiences with the clinic have changed her life, and our Medical Director Shelda Holmes regaled us with stories of the times she spent with Josiah III- "Big smile, big heart, big guy." It was wonderful to see many of Josiah's family members present, and to spend an evening surrounded by the warm JHC community. For a photo album of the event, visit our Facebook page, and click here for a full list of our sponors. A special thanks to Stacy & Witbeck for being our presenting sponsor, it was refreshing to connect with you all! |
| New- Green Business Guide |
Briana Sherry, our Green Business Marketing Specialist, has created a Guide to Green Products in North and Northeast Portland! This guide is part of our Healthy People, Healthy Places Project, funded through an EPA CARE II grant. If you want to know more about greening your household cleaning products, pest control, yard maintenance and household projects, access a list of great green businesses in the Portland area, and learn a little more about your favorite Josiah Hill III Clinic, then this is the guide for you. Please, feel free to share it with friends and family who would benefit from having cleaner, healthier, greener homes (aka: everyone you know)! |
| Program Highlight- Healthy Home Assessments | A reminder to our neighbors in North and Northeast Portland- due to the inevitable dampness of springtime, mold and mildew are at their worst, so June is a good month for a Healthy Home Check-Up! It's simple and easy- a JHC staff member or trained volunteer comes directly to your home and conducts a room by room assessment to identify any hazards that may impact your family's health, including the presence of mold, mildew, lead exposure, and pests. Upon completion, you'll receive a Green Cleaning goodie bag, complete with community resources and a Fred Meyer gift card. To sign up, email Amanda or call us any week day at (503)802-7389, and please let any families in your community know about the service. We're here to help. |
|
Once again, Josiah Hill III Clinic would just like to thank all of you for contributing to the clinic in whatever capacity you have. Check our website for the latest lead testing clinics, green cleaning workshops, and other program information. Enjoy the springtime, everyone, and best wishes!
Sincerely, |
