► The Women of the ELCA will be providing a lunch for $6.00 following the Lenten Noon Worship Services beginning March 9th. Lunch will be served in Neumann and will include a choice of sloppy joe or egg salad sandwich, soup, salad, a dessert and your drink. Please come join the fellowship.
► Women of the ELCA invite you to participate with us in our mission for March, the Connection Café. We are collecting paper goods; paper cups, lunch bags, napkins. The Café feeds about 150 people a day so lots of paper goods are needed. Marked boxes are down by the office and in the hallway across from the chapel. |

► WIRED Luncheon and Program: Sunday, April 10, 12:30 pm at Grand View University with Kathy Reardon
Did you know that we truly are "wired" for God? That the Divine DNA is in the cells and substance of every human person? Psalm 139 beautifully reveals that we are "fearfully and wonderfully made," a truth of whose amazing reality we are only beginning to understand.
This presentation will give an overview of the interweaving of science and spirituality to enhance our understanding of the interconnectedness of the human body, of human beings, of the world community with the universe we live in. "We're in completely new territory in our brains . . . the brain is literally being rewired, reconnecting to a new concept which ultimately is changing us from the inside out." (Dr. Joseph Dispenza, scientist). Kathy Reardon is a spiritual director, a holistic nurse, a teacher, a retreat leader, and a co-developer and faculty member of PrairieFire, a two year spiritual deepening experience offered through the Des Moines Pastoral Counseling Center. Cost: $20. If you have questions, please contact Darla at 243-7691 or darlastiles@stjohnsdsm.org. Sign-up in the lounge later this month. |

In Need of Good Samaritans Who Drive! | |
We have two members of our St. John's family who are in need of transportation assistance. One is a gentleman who has a standing appointment on the second Friday of every month at 10:00 am. He lives in Johnston and the appointment location is off 86th Street. He does need round trip transportation and the appointment lasts one hour. If several people are available, we can set up a rotation. To offer your assistance, please contact Katie at church (243-7691). Additionally, we have a person needing transportation, beginning in July, one night a week for 8 weeks. She is taking a class at Upper Iowa University in West Des Moines and needs a ride home after class. She offers compensation for your assistance. To offer your help, please email Amanda at amandakuhlman@yahoo.com; she is also available to discuss options with her on Sundays in the St. John's nursery
