Children's Ministry 
Sunday School

► All kids are invited to Sunday School. Age 3-Room 5, Preschool-Room 6, Kindergarten-Room 7, first through sixth grade will start in the chapel and then move to their classrooms on 2nd floor.

Sarah Garner will offer a KID FRIENDLY program about the organ called Pipes, Pedals, and Pizza sponsored by the Arts Visioning Ministry Team. It will include a FUN short piece for organ and narrator that introduces some of the sounds of the organ. Kids will get a chance to play the organ!!!! Then we'll all meet for pizza at 11:00 in Weertz.

Photography will meet on Today at 10:00 am in Neumann. The theme of this month is "anything goes" so bring a couple pictures that will be interesting to share.

►  Wii Tournament and Soup Cook-Off: Practice your Wii skills and join others at St. John's for a Wii Tournament followed by a Soup Cook-off on Sunday, February 27th beginning at 3:00 pm. Think about entering the Soup Cook-Off whether you enter the Wii tournament or not (you just need to bring a large crockpot size of soup-any kind). Three judges will determine the winner and everyone will enjoy the soups for supper. Sign up in the lounge this weekend. This event is for all ages from children to grandparents. Enjoy the camaraderie and try your luck at a Wii game!  Sign up in the lounge or online.

►  Couples/Singles Group: The February event is to take part in the Wii Tournament and Soup Cook-Off of February 27. 

WIRED-YOGA-class held every Thursday, February 10-March 24, 5:45 pm at St. Johns-Fireplace Lounge. Contact Sue Tew (sue4youth@aol.com) if interested.

EAGLES will meet Friday, March 11, at church at 10:00 am for a trip to the Iowa Supreme Ct. Building. The tour will take about 45 - 60 minutes. The group will then enjoy lunch at Baratta's in the Historical Building and can browse through the Historical Building following lunch. Please let Carol Dittmer know as soon as possible so reservations can be made (dittmercl@msn.com or 287-7860).

Wii Fitness will begin on Friday, March 11, at 10:00 am in the Fireplace Lounge. Contact Delaine Marker at gramsmkr@hotmail.com or 515-285-2605 if you are interested.

Couples/Singles Group will attend the Da Vinci Exhibit at the Science Center on Saturday, March 12, at 2:30 pm. The group will go to Raccoon River Brewing Company for dinner following the time at the Science Center. Cost of the Science Center Exhibit is $14/person (or $13 for age 65 and older). WELCA Update
WELCAMarch Group meetings for Sarah and Lois will be Thursday the 3rd. Sarah Group will meet at Caribou Coffee, 3220 Ingersoll at 9:30 am. Lois Group will meet in Neumann at 12:30 pm. Lois Group will have a Bible study as their program.  The evening group will meet on Wednesday, March 16. This group is just forming and we encourage other working women to attend at this convenient time. They will meet at Beloved Community and convene to organize and attend the Lenten worship.
Interfaith Hospitality Network

Interfaith Hospitality Network Logo►  On March 8th and 10th, St. John's will assist WDM Christian Church in hosting 3 homeless families in transition. Please consider volunteering for a shift. We need food preparers & servers, evening and overnight hosts. This is a great opportunity for youth, families or small groups to serve together.

On March 8 and 10, we need two people per shift: 5:30 - 7:00 pm serve supper and clean-up; 6:00 - 8:00 pm evening hosts; 8:00 pm - 6:00 am overnight hosts (at least one male needed).

Food needs to be delivered by 5:30 pm: enough for 25 people - main dish; salad; vegetable/starch; dessert. Plus 2 loaves of bread and 2 gallons of milk. Thank you!

Drake Choir and Chamber Choir Performance
Drake University LogoConducted by Aimee Beckmann-Collier, the Drake Choir and Chamber Choir will conclude their regional tour with a home concert on Monday, March 7, at 8:00 p.m. in Sheslow Auditorium. The performance will feature music by Haydn, Gershwin, and Mendelssohn Hensel, as well as contemporary American, Lithuanian, and Philippine composers. There is no admission charge for the concert.
