New Church Directories!

►  After a long wait, our new Pictorial Directories have finally arrived! They will be available for you to pick up this weekend and for the next few weekends. If your 3-ring binder from the last directory is still in good shape, you can pick up the pages only to put into your old binder (they look exactly the same as the new binders).  If however, you have misplaced, didn't receive one, or it's starting to look a little shabby, you may get a new binder along with the pages. Olan Mills provides these directories free of charge IF you had your picture taken or submitted a picture for this directory. We have purchased a limited number of extras for those who didn't have their picture taken. Cost: $8.00.) We hope you enjoy browsing through the activity pictures and viewing the life of St. John's!

AMOS Working
News from AMOS

►  Working, a musical, will be presented by Stagewest Theatre Co., Drake University Theatre Dept. and AMOS at 8 p.m. on May 6, 7, 8 and May 14 & 15 at First Unitarian Church, 1800 Bell Ave., Des Moines, and May 9 at 3:00 p.m. at ACTORS Theater, Ames. Based on Studs Terkel's best-selling book of interviews with American workers, Working paints a vivid portrait of the men and women the world so often takes for granted. Tickets are $20 and may be purchased at St. John's from Bonnie Ekse (964-5929) or online at www.midwestix.com.  You could buy tickets for St. John's people who are currently not working. Funds raised by AMOS (A Mid-Iowa Organizing Strategy) will support its social justice work. St. John's is a member of AMOS.
