In Q1 2011 the Master Installer base increased 25% from 2010. Currently, 56 Master Installers have been recruited and trained by the Project. The Project's goal is to increase participation by 50% in 2011 while maintaining regional diversity. In 2011, Master Installers performed 47% of all Project installs! Encourage your contractors to demonstrate their commitment to ductless heat pumps and become Master Installers.

Project Advises ENERGY STARŪ Most Efficient Program

The Project recently submitted feedback on the new ENERGY STAR Most Efficient Program. This program is designed to advance highly efficient products in the marketplace. To better represent the benefits of DHP technology, the Project recommended that:

  • ENERGY STAR utilize a rating system that appropriately represents the efficiency of inverter-driven ductless heat pumps
  • ENERGY STAR emphasize the relationship between application type and performance
  • ENERGY STAR create an exclusive category for  DHPs

To view the full recommendation click here. The Project will continue coordination efforts with ENERGY STAR to further promote our recommendation.

2011 Cooperative Marketing Program

Cooperative marketing matching funds are now available for participating BPA utilities! Increase market activity with custom marketing campaigns and the program may provide up to 50% in campaign reimbursement - up to $5,000 per utility. Funds are available now through November 10, 2011 and will be distributed on a first-come, first-serve basis to BPA utilities that meet the program requirements. Click here to download the participation forms. Email us at DHPMarketing@fluidms.com if you have any questions.

Project Stimulates Consumer Awareness with TV Ads

The Project ran TV ads in Portland, Bend and Boise from February 14th - March 27th. The TV creative introduced the benefits of DHPs and drove consumers to

www.heatingandcoolingupgrade.com to learn more. During the TV test period web traffic increased by 292%. To view this ad, click here. Using the experience of this test pilot, the Project will launch a regional TV campaign during cooling season 2011.

Stay tuned for details!
