Dear DHP Installers,

Incentive Availability for DHPs
While the availability of ductless heat pump incentives can vary across utility territories, there is currently no scheduled end date for the NW Ductless Heat Pump Project. In the event that a utility changes their incentive offerings, the Project staff will make every effort to communicate that information to contractors and industry partners. Please verify incentives in your area by downloading the Utility Participation List from www.nwductless.com or contacting your utility representative directly.
New Ductless Heat Pump Rebates Announced!
If you install ductless heat pumps in Washington or Idaho, your customers may qualify for additional rebates.

The NW Ductless Heat Pump Program is partnering with Washington's Cash for Appliance program to support the state's new ductless heat pump rebates.

The Cash for Appliances Washington rebate program is now offering customers $750 for qualified DHP installations. To qualify for this rebate, the DHP system must be purchased on or after June 28, 2010, installed by a NW DHP Project oriented contractor, and ENERGY STARŪ rated (EER > 12, SEER > 14.5, HSPF > 8.2). For more information, visit www.cashforapplianceswa.com. The Project is supporting this effort by helping to communicate rebate availability to contractors and consumers. Information about the state program has been posted to our consumer website at www.GoingDuctless.com and announcements are being made in newsletters and the Project orientation.

The Idaho State Energy Efficiency Appliance Rebate Program (SEEARP) is offering qualified customers $250 for ENERGY STARŪ rated DHPs. For more information and complete eligibility requirements, visit http://www.energy.idaho.gov/stimulus/appliance_rebate.htm.

Technical Trainings
The Project requires that participating contractors complete a technical training for each brand of DHPs they install. We understand that availability is key to meeting this requirement; please let us know what trainings you would like to see in your area by emailing us at info@nwductless.com

We are continuing to coordinate with manufacturers in the region to deliver effective trainings that provide information to help you achieve successful DHP installations. Please click here to complete a short survey that will help us improve trainings to meet your needs.
Notes From the Field
The best practice of protecting refrigerant lines with UV tape or rigid line hides is being adopted across the region; however, the most common cause of deviation during quality assurance inspections reveals unprotected exterior lines. It is a requirement of the Project and most manufacturers to wrap all exterior lines in their entirety with insulation and UV tape or a rigid line hide. Check out additional information and suggestions for completing quality installations in the Best Practices for Ductless Heat Pump Installations Guide.
July Parade of Homes
All four houses on display in the Parade of Homes in Clark County this month featured ductless heat pumps, which were one of the most talked about technologies at the event and sparked the attention of homeowners. One participating contractor reported they have already sold three ductless systems as a direct result of the Parade of Homes. All installations included rigid line hides, displaying the highest standard of aesthetic attention.

Local events are a great opportunity to educate the public on ductless technology and promote your services. Bring along copies of the contractor sales sheet to distribute to potential customers; printed double sided, this one page guide is an ideal tool for informing homeowners of the benefits ductless technology offers.  If you would like to order sales sheets, please email us at info@nwductless.com.
