Richmond Drainage Improvements: Storm Sewer Work Continues |
Richmond Construction
Work continued this week on the Richmond Avenue Drainage Improvements Project between Kirby and Buffalo Speedway.
Crews continued work just west of Kirby that with storm sewer installation. This first phase will entail the installation of a large junction box that will tie the coming Richmond improvements into the Kirby drainage system. This activity will likely take four to five weeks to complete before work proceeds west. Expect the current traffic control to remain in place during this period.
Demolition work also took place on Eastside Street south of Richmond Avenue. Over the next several weeks excavation of this area will occur and new storm infrastructure will be placed. During Eastside construction, there will be just enough room for two-way traffic to pass. Please be sure to stay to the right as you pass the construction area to allow motorists traveling opposite you to proceed. Also be aware that no on-street parking will be permitted through the construction zone.
Please be on the lookout for further updates as work progresses.
Buffalo Speedway Construction
The Buffalo Speedway reconstruction project between Bissonnet and US 59 is rapidly nearing substantial completion.
Trees, landscaping and pedestrian lighting have all been installed on the west side of the street and will be completed on the east side of the roadway in the next few days. The only remaining streetscape items are benches and trash receptacles. Those will be placed next week. Minor storm sewer rehabilitation work will also occur shortly.
