Buffalo Speedway Construction Crews Begin Final Pavement Work on East Side |

Crews Pour the New Roadway

Buffalo Speedway Construction
Crews returned to work this week following the holiday break with driveway installation on the east side of the roadway.
To date, contractors have completed overhead utility burial, new water line and storm sewer installation and have paved all main lanes on the eastern half of the street. This week crews began work with the reconstruction of the Purdue St. entrance just south of the Westpark intersection. The access point was reconstructed in halves so as to allow ingress and egress during construction. Storm sewer work at the Westpark intersection was also ongoing.
Next week crews will begin work reconstructing HEB driveways as well as the eastern half of the Bissonnet intersection. Sidewalk installation could also begin as early as next week. It is expected that the Westpark intersection will be reconstructed in the next two weeks. Work will then shift to the west side of the roadway where pavement preparation will begin. Project completion is on pace for March of this year.

In the first four days of coverage, the new Upper Kirby patrol made one arrest for criminal mischief, two arrests for possession of marijuana, preformed 125 business checks and 32 hot-spot checks.
Security services are provided to commercial properties by the Upper Kirby Management District and are available by subscription to Upper Kirby single-family residents and Home Owner's Associations.
