Kirby Drive Richmond to 59 Important Intersection Work This Weekend |
Kirby Drive construction between Richmond and US 59 continues work on its final stages and Buffalo Speedway construction between US 59 and Bissonnet will continue to progress on water and storm infrastructure over the coming week.
Kirby Drive Construction Crews recently completed the 59 underpass reconstruction and have shifted focus to the Richmond intersection this week. The intersection reconstruction will be completed over the next two weekends necessitating that traffic on both Richmond and Kirby crossing the intersection will be shifted down to one lane. Crews will be working on the intersection in halves and will restore full access crossing the intersection by the Monday morning rush-hour.
Workers next week will also continue to install hardscape and landscaping improvements behind the curbs. As was the case this week, motorists should expect the outside lanes to be closed as this work progresses. Two lanes in either direction will continue to be maintained down the center of the roadway.
Buffalo Speedway Construction Water line work will continue this week along the east side of the street on Buffalo Speedway. Work at the Bissonnet/Buffalo Speedway intersection may necessitate some lane closures on Bissonnet approaching the intersection, but schedule has not yet been confirmed. Should any unexpected closure occur, an update detailing specific impacts will be sent out next week. Otherwise, expect traffic movements to remain the same during this phase of work.
Look for weekly updates as this project progresses.
