It's time to spring into fall....

Famed French philosopher and Nobel Prize winner Albert Camus once declared that "autumn is a second spring when every leaf is a flower." It's hard to disagree. The crisp air. Riot of colour. Renewed sense of energy. Desire to get back down to business. What's not to love?

We spring into fall with a feature interview brought to you compliments of Bloom's Network Affiliate for Western Canada -- Liberty Quest Enterprises. Our colleagues at LQE sat down with Vancity Community Foundation's Vera LeFranc to learn more about the Foundation's priorities and practices.

Those involved with organizations focused on youth or the environment will want to check out this issue's funding opportunity -- The Carthy Foundation.

We encourage you to check out Bloom's web site and blog. It is newly redesigned and we are pleased with the outcome and feedback we've been getting. While surfing, check out the sites of two Bloom clients (see below). The leaders behind these innovative fundraising programs are realizing great success!

"Vancity is always planting seeds with inspirational goals... Many times a small grant from the Foundation can be leveraged to gain greater funding from the government, other community organizations and especially from the Vancity Credit Union."

So says Vancity Community Foundation's Manager of Community Projects, Vera LeFranc.

Bloom's Western Network Affiliate team at Liberty Quest Enterprises (LQE), interviewed Vera to explore Vancity's priorities, impact, and practices. Many consider Vancity a prototype of social investing. Read on...
