Independent Garden Center Show Last week I spent three days at the Independent Garden Center Show in Chicago. There were hundreds of exhibitors with both old and new merchandise to exhibit and some very impressive speakers.. I made the rounds and have highlighted some of the things I saw in the attached NOTES from IGC. I also made a slideshow picturing some of the sights. You can find it at my new YouTube UW Horticulture ChannelTwo of the speakers, Robert Hendrickson and Tom Shay will be presenting at the Garden Center Symposium, January 26-27, 2011 -- meeting the goal of National Speakers at Regional Prices. Keep watch for additional information. New ProductsI took notes on a number of new products or ideas that I saw and you can read about them here. Some that caught my interest: - The Gardener's Hollow Leg
 - Pot Toes
- Armadillo Hose Products
- Invincibelle Spirit Campaign
- Probiotic Treatments
- Garden Reward Cards
- "Think Outside" T-Shirts
- Vertical EcoScapes
- Boomer Beds

FREE Late Blight Testing
|
|
An Invitation from Brian Hudelson, Plant Diagnostic Clinic, UW Extension.
As you can hear from the Invitation, if you think you or one of your customers has Late Blight on tomatoes and/or potatoes, you can send your sample to the diagnostic lab, either through your local extension agent or directly, and Brian will determine if it is indeed Late Blight. If it isn't Late Blight, the lab will let you know what it actually is.
