If you have been reading the last couple of newsletters you'll already know that the nutritional profile of the Chocolate-Raspberry bar is almost identical to our first award-winning, patent-pending bar. Calorie content (190) is the same. The bar has eight grams of fiber and only eight grams of fat. And, of course, it still contains more resveratrol than 50 glasses of red wine.

Our new flavor will get its first public airing at the huge Fancy Food Show in San Francisco, January 16-18.

THE RIGHT PRODUCT AT THE RIGHT TIME
When we developed the WineTime Bar we positioned it at the convergence of the natural health food/nutrition market and the gourmet/specialty food market. The combination of chocolate and the benefits of drinking red wine by infusing the bar with resveratrol was, we felt, a winning combination.
It seems like we do, indeed, have the right product at the right time if recent articles in leading trade publications are any indicator.
The magazine Natural Foods Merchandiser, looking into its crystal ball, included Resveratrol (and its cousin pterostilbene) in its "Hot Trends For 2011" report, writing, "The dynamic duo gains traction and sales." Also they say, "Gluten-free will continue to grow up."
Perhaps most heartening of all was their observation, "Gourmet will continue to learn from natural and natural will continue to learn from gourmet, resulting in more cross-merchandising and blending of the two."
Sales in the global chocolate market have risen 3% since 2008. The current market is worth $17 billion and is on target to exceed $19 billion by 2014, according to "The Chocolate Market in the U.S.: Trends and Opportunities in Premium, Gourmet and Mass Chocolate Products," a new report from Packaged Foods. Meanwhile, Functional Ingredients magazine named Resveratrol as one of its "Magnificent 7 Ingredient Picks for 2011."

WINETIME BARS GRACE THE RED CARPET
 WineTime Bars will walk the red carpet at the Tasty Awards in Hollywood, California tonight. The event honors the year's best achievements in food and fashion on television, in film, and online.
As the "Official Gourmet Nutrition Bar" of The Tasty Awards WineTime Bars will be provided to more than 600 attendees including trendsetters in the food industry--journalists, TV presenters, chefs and other "foodies."
