Most of you know that we just returned from Uganda with a team of 22 passionate servants! We were so busy while there, that we didn't have as much time as we would have liked to send out email updates. We saw many miracles take place in not only Uganda, but in the hearts of our team members.
Some of you may have watched the video of Stephanie (one of our team members) share her excitement as we were on a "Say No To Hunger" outreach in Kaliti Village (Field of Dreams) We had planned to feed 50 children, but so many more kept showing up. There were at least 250 that finally arrived. Some shared that they walked for miles in hopes of eating this meal. The pots of food NEVER went below half way. (Click here to watch the video)
Below is an email testimony from another team member named Jeanne. We know the following story will inspire you to join us on one of our upcoming short-term mercy mission trips.
Hope Children Used To Mend Hearts
"I was blessed to be part of the team to Uganda; January 2010.Our first day arriving at Hope Children's Home (Hope Children's Home) is one of many experiences that I will treasure always. As our bus came within site of the home, we could hear and see the excitement as well as the happiness of the kids waiting to greet us. When the doors opened, it was like a sea of hands were reaching out for one of ours to hold onto. One by one, we stepped off the bus into what God would use to begin changing my life - our lives.
Before the trip, I began struggling with personal doubt, unworthiness and feelings of being unlovable. I shared with my husband that I did not feel I was special.
Brenda, Jeanne and Special
As I stepped off the bus, I was hugged by many children but there was one girl that held on tightly; she quickly became "my girl." She welcomed me and showed me all around her home. She stood at the side of the bus at my window each day as it was time for the team to leave. I would rub her back while waiting for everyone to get on the bus. Each day, she was waiting to greet me as we arrived at Hope. She gave me a beaded bracelet she had made that I wore the 2 weeks we were there and am still wearing as I write this. When we introduced ourselves to each other that first day, I knew God had planned to use her to lift my heart. My girl's name was Special and it was through her that He showed me in a new way that He loves me, cares for me, knows my every thought, every feeling, and that HE thinks I am special. ~ Jeannne
