Issue: # 7Sept/2010
Greetings!

Summer 2010 is in the history books, and here on P.E.I., I can honestly say it has been a summer to remember!  The season started off with a bang with the new Charlottetown Summerfest, the Cavendish Beach Music Festival, then right on to Regis and Kelly.  Two new events; The Red Island Run and Fall Flavours finish off the season.  The weather co-operated all season, drawing tourists to our wonderful beaches and festivals.

It is now back to business.  In this issue we'l bring you up-to-date on some changes here at Kwik-Kopy, get you ready for the business to business expo on P.E.I., and offer one lucky reader a "thriller" of a prize!

Be Prepared

October 21, 2010 is the big day.  That's right, it's the annual Charlottetown Chamber of Commerce Biz2Biz Expo.  This event is an excellent opportunity for a business to make a great impression, or in some cases a bad impression.

Here's a few simple tips to help make your day at the expo worthwhile.  Plan out in advance what you will need for the day: pens, ballots, ballot box, draw-prizes, business cards, promo-literature, staff scheduling.  Order and buy your supplies in advance.  Remember that your display space is generally 10 x 10 so don't clutter it.  Keep the space inviting and open.  Any tables should be at the back and company reps should be in front of the table, not behind.  Make sure to have something with your name and/or the company name that the customer can take home with them.

Avoid eating and drinking as much as possible while in your booth.  People will shy away from your booth so as not to disturb you while you are eating.  Make sure everything is well signed, and be ready for business.

There is tons of information and tips on how to get ready for a trade-show on the internet.   We also have some specials on from now until Biz2Biz.  Check out the bottom of the newsletter!
KWIK KOPY GETTING NEW LOOK
New Digs!
New Bldg
Architect's rendition of the new look for Kwik Kopy

Kwik Kopy Design and Print Centre  is in the middle of a  major expansion to their current location at the corner of Queen and Euston St. in downtown Charlottetown.  The new building will grow from 13,000 sq.ft. to over 20,500 sq. ft.

"With the purchase of Island Offset and some new equipment we are starting to run out of room," stated Troy MacKenzie.  MacKenzie, a Charlottetown resident, is co-owner of the franchise with his brother Shawn MacKenzie, also of Charlottetown.  "8 years ago, when we bought the old Batt & MacRae/McInnis Bros Flooring building we naively thought we would never need all the space that was in the building, "added Shawn.  In fact, for the first 5 years, parts of the building were rented out to local businesses and community groups.  Steady growth and investment into new equipment soon meant that the building the MacKenzie brothers once thought was too big was now getting quite small.

Coles Associates of Charlottetown were given the task of drawing up the plans to add the extra space to the current facility.  The lot that used to house the Buy, Sell, and Trade building on Queen St. and adjacent to Kwik Kopy was purchased by the Mackenzie's several years ago and has been used for parking.  That location is now  where the expansion is taking place.  MacLean Construction, an Island construction company, is the general contractor responsible for building the two-story extension.

"The extension, coupled with a makeover for the existing building, will really add to the look of this part of Charlottetown.  The architects have done a great job maintaining the integrity of the current one storey structure while adding an additional two storey extension." stated Shawn. "We are also very fortunate that the construction will have very little impact on the daily operations of our plant," he added.

Construction of the additional 7500 sq, began July 15 and is expected to last until the end first week of November.

Kwik Kopy is the Classic Albums Live Series Sponsor
"CLASSIC ALBUMS LIVE" SERIES SPONSOR
"Note for Note.  Cut for Cut" is the description used for "Classic Albums Live"  . . . perfect reproduction.  With that said, we couldn't help but become the series sponsor for 2010-11.

This year's line-up starts off with the best-selling album of all time, Michael Jackson's "Thriller", premiering October 14, 2010.  The other albums on the schedule include AC/DC's "Back in Black" and The Who, "Who's Next".

"Classic Albums Live" uses some of the best musicians in North America to reproduce these albums live.  Reviews of past performances have been fantastic and the future performances are sure to draw the same.

If you would like a chance to win a pair of tickets.  Email me the name of one of the songs on "Thriller" excluding the title track, plus your name and phone number.  A lucky winner will be drawn from all of the correct answers at the end of the business day,  October 1, 2010.  Be sure to include in the subject line  Thriller.

Good Luck!
This months newsletter was a little longer than previous ones but I do hope you found it worthwhile, and I thank-you for being interested in Kwik Kopy!

Sincerely,
