KARATE KID
SMOKIN' SPECIAL
Greetings!

The Winter Olympics are over and we get to enjoy and celebrate the successes of our athletes (WAY TO GO HEATHER!).  All of that success came with a lot of hard work, sacrifice, and last but not least, planning to peak at the right time.

Business people can learn alot from elite athletes when it comes to planning.  Goal setting, looking at what the expected outcome is, and taking the steps needed to reach that goal are all sound business practices, too.  Kwik Kopy can help plan and produce your print needs for the upcoming spring and summer season so that you can hit the  busy summer season full-stride.

For more information on what Kwik Kopy can do to help you reach your goals contact us, or visit our website: charlottetown.kwikkopy.ca

Sincerely,

The Importance of Planning...

By the time that you read this article, your immediate conclusion might be that it's too late to do anything for 2010. Relax it's never that late.

If you've ever had to borrow money, you know the lending institution needs a quantifiable indication of your earning and expenditures before it will release the funding. Basically, that description of what you're going to do and the resulting financial implications is a BUSINESS PLAN. There's a reason the financial institutions ask for a plan and you should be as demanding of yourself as they are.

However, experienced business people would maintain that the most significant and important events in either a career or business are totally unexpected. Think about your own career or business. Has it developed exactly as you expected? Were there not, in fact, some pretty significant unexpected twists that got you to where you are today?

Seasoned business people will say the real benefit of a business plan was that it enables you to recognize and capitalize on unexpected opportunities.

The most difficult part of any business plan is getting started - making the personal commitment to put a plan in place. But once you acknowledge the need for a plan where do you start? What do you do next?

The good news is that in today's business environment there are more resources and help available to you than ever before. There are excellent books, inexpensive (and expensive consultants too) and even readily available user friendly software.

Building an annual plan does take some time and effort... but less than you think and the benefits are significant.  At the conclusion of the exercise you will have a greater understanding of problems and opportunities. Clarity as to what has to happen next and find yourself poised for even greater things.
KWIK KOPY KARATE KID
Dale Nicholson at work, and at play
Dale Nicholson
Customers and staff at Kwik Kopy Design and Print Centre don't have to rush out to the movie theatre to see the re-make of the popular 80's movie, Karate Kid, to get their martial arts fix.  They need look no further than Kwik Kopy's Dale Nicholson.

Dale, who is our pre-press supervisor and IT expert, is a third-degree black belt in Chito Ryu Karate, as well as an instructor at the West River School of Karate.   Dale keeps very busy balancing work, family life with his wife and daughter, and practicing his karate.

In the shop, Dale is well respected not for his karate skills, but for his vast depth of knowledge of printing.  Dale started with Kwik Kopy in August of 1995 as the Copy Room Supervisor (he was also the only one in the copy room!). When asked what advice he would give someone starting a print project, Dale replied, "Figure out what you want your end product to look like, then come see us on how to get you to that end point.  You will probably save yourself some money, as well as some frustration."
MANAGING YOUR PRINT BUDGET
custom care
Making smart and efficient use of your print budget is a necessary part of running your business.  Savings can be made by purchasing high-use items such as letterhead, statements, brochures, etc. in large quantities to take advantage of reducing the set-up costs/pc. involved in running a print job.  For almost all print jobs, whether it is a run of 500 or 10,000, the costs involved in  starting the job are virtually the same.

Of course, managing cash flow is just as important as maximizing savings through bulk purchases.  The advantage of working with us here at Kwik Kopy, is that because of our size and technology, we can handle a wide range jobs: big or small.  If you are starting up a business and need a few business cards to get you started, or a small amount of letterhead to get you through a short-fall, we can help.  Our shop uses the latest advancements in digital reproduction.  Today's digital technology allows users to print high-quality projects, quickly, efficiently, and inexpensively.
