25 Years and Going Strong
In 1984 Dale and Marg MacKenzie opened the original Kwik Kopy on University Ave. Their equipment basically consisted of a single color press, a black and white photocopier and a cash register! For 16 years they successfully serviced the printing needs of Charlottetown and surrounding area. In 2001 two of their sons (Shawn and Troy) took over operation and moved the business to its current location on the corner of Euston and Queen in Charlottetown.
Today Kwik Kopy houses two full color offset presses, full wide-format printing capabilities, complete digital printing services, mailing, and much more.
Save Money With These Artwork Tips
Providing us with the correct artwork specifications will save you time and money for your printing. One quick and easy way to save money is to check your artwork design for bleeds.
What is a Bleed? Bleed is an industry term that refers to artwork that extends past the page border and will be trimmed off the final piece. In the printing industry, bleed is used on every job that has ink which prints to the edge of the page.
Jobs with bleed are always printed on a larger size paper than the final size. They are printed with crop marks (cut marks) in order to cut the job to size. The inks must extend past the crop marks (at least 1/8" or .125") so when the job is cut the ink will cover the edge of the paper. If there is no bleed , it is possible a small margin on the edge of the paper will not have the desired ink coverage.
