Join Village President Rod Craig (Hanover Park) and Village President Al Larson (Schaumburg) on July 3, 2010 for a ribbon cutting event at the NGPL Bike Path. The ribbon cutting will take place at the end of Walnut Lane in Schaumburg (1000 feet east of Northway).

This joint project between the Village of Hanover Park and the Village of Schaumburg was recently completed which provides a bicycle and pedestrian link between the two communities. Acting as lead agency, Hanover Park was awarded an 80% federal grant to construct the bike path from RangerPark in Hanover Park to AtcherPark in Schaumburg. The 10 foot wide asphalt path starts at Kingsbury Drive in Hanover Park and runs in an easterly direction along the right-of-way owned by the Natural Gas Pipeline Company of America for a distance of approximately one mile, connecting to an existing path just north of the West Branch of the DuPageRiver at AtcherPark. The path also provides access to both Anne Fox School in Hanover Park and Jane Adams School in Schaumburg.
