| Street Improvement Program |
 In 2010, significant roadway improvements will be constructed throughout the village. These improvements will consist of approximately five miles of residential street reconstruction, nine miles of residential street resurfacing, and one mile of industrial street reconstruction. The need for these improvements was identified by the village's recent pavement evaluation study. Click here for more information on the 2010 Street Improvement Program. |
| 2010/2011 Vehicle Licenses |
Vehicle licenses for 2010/2011 will be on sale March 1 through April 30. The fee is $20 and they may be purchased online. Courtesy renewal applications will be mailed out the last week of February to current license holders. Please apply online or use your pre-printed renewal form-it's cost-efficient and environmentally friendly. New stickers must be displayed by May 1 to avoid a fine. | Citizen Emergency Alerts |
The village has implemented a state-of-the-art emergency notification system to alert citizens about emergencies and other important community news. The emergency notification system by Everbridge enables the village to provide essential information quickly in a variety of situations such as severe weather, fires, floods, unexpected road closures, or evacuation of buildings. WGN's very own favorite funnyman radio host Steve Cochran hosts a night of comedy with the hilarious Patti Vasquez. The quick-witted Cochran has held audiences in stitches alongside the likes of Jay Leno, Garry Shandling, and Jerry Seinfeld. Chicagoan Vasquez - a frequent guest on Cochran's radio show - has graduated from popular stints at Zanies Comedy Club to two hit one-woman shows: Pregnant Party Girl: From Stoli's to Stirrups and Mamacita: Tales of a Diaper Diva. | Police Department 50th Anniversary |
The public is invited to attend an open house to mark the 50th anniversary of the Schaumburg Police Department on Monday, March 15. Schaumburg's first Chief of Police, Martin J. Conroy, was sworn in on that date.
The open house will take place in the Community Room of the Public Safety Building from 6-9pm at 1000 W. Schaumburg Road. |
| Volunteer of the Year Awards |
Nominations Sought for Volunteer of the Year
Categories Available: Adult Individual, Youth Individual, and Organization Know an adult or teen who gives back to the Schaumburg community by volunteering time to help an individual or an organization? Or, know of an admirable Schaumburg organization that deserves to be recognized for its efforts? Take a few minutes to nominate the person or organization that comes to mind by completing a Volunteer of the Year nomination form. Nominations will be accepted until April 1. | Earth Day Recycling Event |
 The Village of Schaumburg and School District 54 have once again partnered to celebrate Earth Day and will be co-hosting a community-wide recycling event. Saturday, April 24 10am - 3pm School District 54 Parking Lot 524 E. Schaumburg Road For information regarding this event, call 847.923.6644. |
| Musical Memories of Yesteryear |
 The Schaumburg Committee on Aging will hold their fourth annual Musical Memories of Yesteryear concert and dance at the Schaumburg Park District Recreation Center (CRC). This event showcases the live music of the Schaumburg High School Jazz Band as they play the "Golden Oldies" of the '30s, '40s, and '50s. Music, dancing, a FREE raffle, and light refreshments will be provided. Admission is $7. Make a reservation at the CRC senior desk.
