Rob Buren Riding His Adaptive Motorcycle

Rob Buren is one of our newest No Regrets Live presenters. He was left a paraplegic as the result of a cycling incident, but has found a way to continue doing many of the things he loves- like riding motorcycles! Check out this clip, which shows Rob managing risk with the help and support of his family and friends.

Welcome Back!

We hope you had a wonderful and relaxing summer! The SMARTISK Youth Team is very excited for this upcoming year, and we hope you are too!

No Regrets training begins for some of our schools next week, and carries on throughout the fall. That being said, registration paperwork is due. Please email or fax your paperwork to Emily Driscoll (Fax: 416-596-2721).

Receive $2,000 for your No Regrets Team - Apply for a Project Ignition Grant!

No Regrets teams in Alberta, Ontario, and New Brunswick who are interested in running a teen driver safety campaign as part of their No Regrets program this year are invited to apply for a Project Ignition grant!

This is a great opportunity for your team to use what you have learned from the No Regrets program and apply for the chance to receive $2,000 in funding for your campaign. Ten schools will also be invited to attend a national conference made up of other Project Ignition grant winners and the chance to secure additional funds to further support your team.

SMARTRISK thinks that this grant is an amazing opportunity for all eligible No Regrets schools, and we want to help you apply for it! If you are interested in applying, please email Emily Driscoll. The deadline for applications is November 15th. You can click here for more information on Project Ignition.

The No Regrets team at Northern Secondary School was one of the No Regrets teams that received a Project Ignition grant this past year. Their work through Project Ignition and SMARTRISK was just featured in the Youth Service America blog! Click here to check it out!

Updates to the No Regrets Program

The SMARTRISK Youth Team has been busy over the summer improving the No Regrets program. These changes were made based on feedback from our No Regrets teams, teachers, and our regional partners. Thanks to all of you for helping us to improve the program.

One of our biggest updates is to the format of the program itself. We have added a more formalized needs assessment to the program and given you all the materials your No Regrets team will need to carry it out. We have also developed some brand new signature activities for your team to implement. Here is a sneak peak at one of these activities- our nationwide Multi-Media Competition!

We are also making changes to our No Regrets website, which will be up and running very soon. You can look forward to hearing more about these program updates in your upcoming No Regrets training session!
