Keep, Let Go, Begin
| January 2012 | |
Aloha,
Happy New Year! I love new starts. I love letting go of old goals and intentions. Life continues to happen and that means where we thought we were going isn't necessarily where we end up. Many times our goals and resolutions are established without taking into account the rest of our lives, responsibilities and needs.
This year, I'm starting out with questions for you.
What do you want to KEEP in 2012? It can certainly be items and things, but it could also be habits and strategies that have helped you get and stay better organized. Definitely KEEP.
What are you ready to LET GO of this next year? Again, it can be objects, but it could also be expectations you've set for yourself or roles you've taken on that no longer fit who you are and what you want to be and do. LET GO.
What would you like to BEGIN? This may include the intention of spending 15 minutes a day clearing your work space or filing papers. Or you could BEGIN to establish another habit that helps you maintain your organization. It could also be accepting that getting organized will take you time, that what's good enough doesn't have to be perfect, or that it's time to act instead of just plan to act. BEGIN.
If you've been talking about getting organized and still haven't taken that next step to doing it then calling me in will help you. Sure, I suggest organizing tools and systems, but the number one reason my clients keep working with me is that I provide the focus and encouragement they need to move forward and keep going. If you would like 2012 to be the year to get your dhucks in a row, call me at 808.969.3800 or email me at dhucks@dhucks.com. I have several specials available if you're willing to commit to your organizing success. My help and support is available in-person and over the phone.

Your Kitchen - 15 minutes or less
| |
- Go through the condiments in your refrigerator. Toss any past its expiration date, or those you haven't used in a long while.
- Go vertical. Instead of storing your favorite cooking utensils in an overcrowded drawer, use a utensil holder that sits by the stove. I've used a super large coffee cup, a ceramic holder or even a blue wide mouth glass jar. Don't over stuff it though.
- Organize your junk drawer. Take out everything that belongs someplace else (take it there AFTER you finish the drawer), toss the trash and throw everything else back in! It doesn't need to be perfectly organized, it just needs to close.
Time yourself doing these tips and let me know how long it takes you. Email me at dhucks@dhucks.com

Tools for the Kitchen

Do family members put the dishes in the sink because they don't know whether the dishwashers is clean or dirty? This can help. And I use it on my drawer dishwashers so that I know which one we're using.
