Behavior Change is not a one time event. It is a journey as I've written before. I have now moved back to the
contemplative stage of exercise because I'm not doing what I know will help me feel better, be healthier and maintain my weight.
Some people would tell me to just get up and do it, but willpower alone never worked for me and it's not working now. Others will go on and on about how they just love to exercise and I think that's great that they do. I'm not loving exercise at the moment.
I want to find that inner motivation that I had when I was 242# and getting out of a chair was a slow process. Sometimes getting clear on what is important to me increases the motivation. Sometimes using exercise for other purposes works; like going for a walk to think or walking to meet a friend. Sometimes all it takes is to make exercise more convenient. In fact as I wrote this edition, I needed a mental break so I decided to go outside and walk around a bit. I had hoped I would be motivated to walk more. But the motivation to move just wasn't there. So here is what I am going to do for the next couple of days.
Accept the stage I'm at.
Relax and let go of the need to control my schedule.
Add a bit of fun and laughter to my day.
Pick up my schedule on Saturday and see where I'm at.
