Small Steps

A journey of a thousand miles begins with
a single step.

Try This:

I'm finally back from my trip and it's time for a new start.  I love new starts!  I get to mentally throw out the regrets, the guilt, the intentions that never moved into action, and all those things that I feel bad for doing or not doing.  Or maybe I feel bad about not having regrets :).  With new starts you get a clean slate and anything is possible again.  And since this trip was 7 weeks long and a lot has happened to change life as I once knew it, it really is like starting fresh.

One of those new starts begins today.  I am now the leader for the Saturday morning Weight Watchers®  meeting in Hilo (the Wednesday meeting that I was leading has closed).  For those of you who may not know, I didn't lose my weight on my own.  I had a great tool -- Weight Watchers®.  Actually the tools I used each time I lost weight were always effective, but Weight Watchers® is the tool that helped me keep that weight off for 4 1/2 years now.  And since most of my plans for eating and exercising on this long trip really didn't survive initial contact (see travel plans, 7th Small Steps from the top), I will be focusing on getting back to the choices, habits, behaviors and thoughts that helped me lose the 90# I did.  I'll be sharing that journey as always here.  So, CHEERS! to new starts.

What can you make a new start of this week?
How'd it go?

I've lost weight twice before but I gained it back eventually.  This time I'm determined to keep it off and I realize that it's not a one time fix.  It's a journey.  And as with all great journeys, you learn as you go.

I take these small steps with you each week because I also need to build and maintain the habits and behaviors that support me in my journey.  Thanks for joining me each week.  Have fun and enjoy your life!
