Don't do anything to lose weight
that you aren't willing to do to maintain it.
I have to say that at the moment I'm not sure I'm willing to limit portion size the rest of my life :) So maybe I should change that mantra to " don't do anything to lose weight that I'm not willing to keep trying to do the rest of my life." That being said, I know that keeping my portion sizes to what my body needs, rather than what my mind and emotions want, is very important to maintaining my health.
But instead of focusing on reducing my dinner portions, I'm going to go back to having my afternoon snacks. The snacks often consisted of a wedge of spreadable cheese on flatbread with lite salami, 5 olives and some fruit. It definitely made better dinner decisions easier, because I wasn't starving. So I'm trying afternoon snacks again, because they work for me.

| Though we (me, my family and friends) came through the tsunami with no damage, it was a reminder to be better prepared for emergencies and disasters. If you want to be better prepared next time, check out my list of what you might include in your emergency kit. And make sure you prepare a kit for your pets also. And if you have an organization or group that would like to learn more about preparing an emergency kit, I give a free presentation.

Don't wait until everything is just right. It will never be perfect. There will always be challenges, obstacles and less than perfect conditions. So what. Get started now. With each step you take, you will grow stronger and stronger, more and more skilled, more and more self-confident and more and more successful.
