Small Steps

A journey of a thousand miles begins with
a single step.

Yesterday is history.  Tomorrow is a mystery, but today is a gift, that is why it is called the present.

           TODAY IS A GIFT

I have written about acknowledging with gratitude; remembering to breath and be present; and creating soothing rituals to bring back awareness and balance.  Today I'm writing about creating a talisman, an anchor, a touchstone or any physical reminder to live in the moment and believe; accept; celebrate; enjoy; acknowledge; laugh; cheer; or breath.  My sister gave me a  wonderful opportunity to create such a reminder.  She found a stone that she wanted to make into her touchstone, a stone that fits perfectly in her hand to anchor her in the moment.  She took me shopping for my own touchstone, and this weekend, to start the New Year off right, we will create  and build our talismans together.  And we will infuse them with laughter and energy and balance and strength and friendship and love, because we will be watching Kung Fu Panda and any other movies that remind us to believe in ourselves, to look within and to treat today as a gift.

My Journey:
Shawndra's AFTER
I've lost weight twice before but I gained it back eventually.  This time I'm determined to keep it off and I realize that it's not a one time fix.  It's a journey.  And as with all great journeys, you learn as you go.

I take these small steps with you each week because I also need to build and maintain the habits and behaviors that support me in my journey.  Thanks for joining me each week.  Have fun and enjoy your life!

Benefits of working with a coach

You'll have a balanced life that works well because you designed it "selfishly".  Sorry, but having it all means starting with a balanced life.  And you know what that means -- it's time to be very, very selfish.  Not egotistical, but Selfish.  I'll show you how to be selfish yet responsible.  And how to get your needs met and still have people like you!
