December 1, 2005, I weighed 242.4 pounds. By December of the next year I had lost 87 pounds and I've maintained that weight loss for 4 years now (give or take a few pounds). That's the longest I've ever maintained a weight loss. I didn't do it alone and I want to thank a few who have supported my journey. Thanks...To my husband, Steve. Thank you for cheering me on in everything I do; for your wonderful cooking; for joining me in making healthy changes; for being who you are; and most of all for loving me in all my forms and with all my wild ideas.
To my sister, Anne. Thank you for always being there for me; for your brilliant ideas; and for the patience you show when it takes me a while to acknowledge the brilliance. It would save time if I just listened to you in the first place more often.
To Weight Watchers. I've lost weight before, so yes I know I can, but Weight Watchers created a program that supported me while I lost the weight AND they provided the support, vision and tools I needed to
maintain a healthy weight. I've learned never do anything to lose the weight that I'm not willing to do to maintain it.

And because I believe in you, believe in your power and beauty and amazingness (yes it is a word--in my dictionary), you reflect that back to me. Many of you have shared when a particular
