| | What do you do to calm and soothe away stress? Do you reach for food? I still do sometimes. I don't do it as often or eat as much as I did 5 years ago, but yes, there are still times that I respond to fears, uncertainties, doubts and stress by trying to soothe it away with food. It doesn't really work of course, and it adds it's own bit of stress, but it's an old habit and coping technique that I've lived with my whole life and it's not going to change overnight. But I have come a long way. I have acknowledged the improvement, I have accepted that it is a journey and requires persistence, and this week I'm searching for a replacement. This week I am looking into soothing rituals that work for me in times of stress. That means they have to be simple, easy, fun and bring awareness back. And, since I believe it is easier to replace some habits with similar, but healthier activities, I will also be looking into low calorie soothing rituals like having a cup of tea.
What soothing ritual will you enjoy this week? If you have a ritual, habit or technique you enjoy, please share it with me on my blog.

We're so busy watching out for what's just ahead of us that we don't take time to enjoy where we are.
