I participated in a great workshop this last week, Appreciative Inquiry. The main idea is to focus on strengths, what's working and what's right in order to create change in an organization or group. This applies to individuals as well. What you focus on increases, so focus on what you want more of.
Here are some ways that you can focus on your strengths and appreciate what works for you:
- Make a list of your wins & successes, look at them routinely and keeping adding to your list.
- Create a gratitude journal and write 5 things you're grateful for each day.
- Share a story about a time when you felt most energized and excited.
- Identify activities that make you smile and do more of them.
- Make a list of all the opportunities that are available to support you and your goal.
What will you appreciate this week?
