Small Steps

A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.

Try This:

It's almost 2010 and I realize that I haven't taken the time to make all my annual check-ups this past year.  Part of living healthy is checking in with your health care team to discuss issues and get those routine screenings done.

I also realized that I'm no longer 20 (haven't been for almost 25 years), but I don't know what screenings I should be aware of for my age group.

So... what and how often?

Here are some sites that can help you create your own health screening checklist from WomensHealth.gov.

For Women

Will you schedule one check-up this week for your health?
How'd it go?

What did you substitute for a healthy change last week?

My Journey:
Shawndra's AFTER
I've lost weight twice before but I gained it back eventually.  This time I'm determined to keep it off and I realize that it's not a one time fix.  It's a journey.  And as with all great journeys, you learn as you go.

I take these small steps with you each week because I also need to build and maintain the habits and behaviors that support me in my journey.  Thanks for joining me each week.  Have fun and enjoy your life!
